Biography / historiography: Born 8 January 1853 in Budapest, died 23 February 1914 in Prague. Soldier, politician, from 1892 head of the Rohan family. In 1885 he married Johanna von Auersperg, with whom he had four daughters and the sons Alain and Karl Anton Rohan. After the death of his great uncle Kamil Rohan (1800–1892), he took over the inheritance, including the family fideicommissum. The following year he became a member of the House of Lords of the Austrian Imperial Council. In 1901 he was elected to the Bohemian Diet on behalf of the Constitutional Large Estates Party, where he later also held the function of head of the party club.
